Mentioned in the Snake Lake Mecha Museum, the Nighthawk is a Pre-Zero mecha that fell out of use after the first Battroid was put into production. It is a contemporary of the Esher. Some speculate based around the description of the Claymore:
This was the first Multi-Purpose Battlesuit put into general production. The flexibility offered by its hands and humanoid form offered great advantages over the Escher and Nighthawk mecha which were popular at the time.
Suggests that it was a general purpose combatant. Given the name, it is considered likely that it was an Aerofighter or (perhaps more likely) gunship style Hoverfighter.
